Ritual of Laying Down the Cross

Create a quiet space. Light a white candle.

If you wish, place a small stone or cross-shaped object.

Say softly:

“This burden was never mine to carry forever.
I honor the pain of those before me.
But I do not carry their wounds as my identity.”

Hold the object or place your hand over your heart:

“I release the story of sacrifice without joy.
I release the belief that love must hurt.”

Now gently lay down the object and say:

“I choose to walk not with the weight of pain,
but with the wings of light.
I honor my ancestors. I set myself free.”

Let the candle burn while you sit in stillness.

When ready, blow it out and feel your heart — lighter..
